God has amazing things for your life. Some of us tend to plan out our lives and are then disappointed if it doesn’t turn out like we imagined.
What if “our detour” is actually a blessing? What if we held loosely our dreams and asked Jesus to take the wheel as Carrie Underwood has sung, what blessings would we enjoy?

Daily Devotional
Have you felt disappointed lately about something in your life? It happens right? We have all been there.
As children, we play make-believe dreaming of what our lives will be like. Maybe you dreamed of being a princess and marrying Prince Charming.
If you are a guy, maybe it was to grow up and be a fireman. We had dreams and no one discouraged that. Everyone asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up.
Hopefully, no one said to you, the reality is you might end up in a marriage that feels hard, kids that don’t listen, or maybe divorce.
We dreamed and envisioned and for some, you are living the fairy tale life. Life has taught me though that we all have our struggles and have things we wish were different.
First, take the disappointment to God. Be honest with God when you are disappointed. He already knows your thoughts so nothing you say will catch him off guard and you certainly won’t be punished for your thoughts.
Second, surrender your dreams. Lay them down and ask God to give you new dreams. Remind him of the promise that He has things for your life that you can’t even imagine.
Third, when the enemy tries to discourage you and oh he will try, remind him of this promise. Your God has big plans for your life.
I am believing over you that God will bless you abundantly and that he will ignite new dreams and visions for your life.

God,
Some days life is hard and not what I dreamed it would be. I trust that you have plans for my life that are amazing and yet I can’t see them right now.
I surrender my disappointments and open my hands to receive all you have for me.
Thank you for your love and promises. I can’t wait to see what you have in store. I can’t wait for my eyes to see the blessings.
