Hey there! Today, let’s talk about John 15:12. In this verse, Jesus tells us, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” It’s a simple yet profound statement that challenges us to love others just as Jesus loves us.

Now, we all know that Jesus’s love is unconditional, sacrificial, and unwavering. He laid down His life for us, showing the ultimate form of love.

So, when Jesus tells us to love others as He loves us, He’s setting a pretty high standard, right?

But here’s the thing – He doesn’t ask us to do something that He hasn’t already demonstrated. He’s not asking us to muster up this kind of love on our own.

Instead, He’s inviting us to tap into the endless reservoir of His love for us and let it overflow onto those around us.

So, the next time we’re faced with a challenging person or a difficult situation, let’s remember this command to love others as Jesus loves us.

It’s a tall order, for sure, but with His love empowering and guiding us, we can take on this challenge one step at a time. Let’s lean on Him and allow His love to shine through us in all we do.

Daily Prayer

Heavenly Father,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the powerful words of Jesus in John 15:12, where you command me to love one another as He has loved me.

Lord, I confess that at times I fall short of this command. I struggle to love others unconditionally, sacrificially, and with the same depth of love that You have shown me.

But I come to You with an open heart, asking for Your help. Fill me with Your love, Lord. Help me to see others through Your eyes and to love them with the same grace and compassion that You have shown me.

Teach me to lay down my own desires and preferences for the sake of loving others as You have loved me.

May Your love flow through us, touching the lives of those around us and bringing glory to Your name. Help us to be vessels of Your love in a world that so desperately needs it.

I thank You, Lord, for the example of love that You have set for me and for the promise that You will enable me to fulfill this command through Your strength.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen.
